Idaho Schools Get Money to go Greener

Idaho schools are about to become a little greener thanks to federal stimulus money.

The state will receive more than $17 million for heating and cooling system upgrades at every school.

Leaders say investing now will save Idaho money in the future.

"You'll see the kind of savings we're already seeing here in Homedale - an 8 to 10% savings in power cost, energy cost," said Idaho Schools Superintendent Tom Luna. "That's huge when you go across the state."

The project will also provide new lights, insulation and water systems for schools that need them.
