Emergency crews have shut down both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 55, after a two-vehicle accident about one mile north of Banks.
An Idaho State Police dispatcher tells Today's Channel 6 News that there are at least six patients. The extent of their injuries, however, is unknown.
The accident is being handled by both Idaho State Police and deputies from the Boise County Sheriff's Office.
Dispatchers also tell us that air ambulances could not be sent to the scene due to inclement weather.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the accident happened.
