New charter school taking shape in Moscow

Associated Press - July 3, 2009 5:34 PM ET

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - Construction crews are remodeling an old furniture store in downtown Moscow to get the building ready to house the city's second active charter school.

The Palouse Prairie School of Expeditionary Learning is set to open this fall.

School Board member Lahde Forbes said finding a building was the toughest part of getting the charter school ready to go. The state only approves six new charter schools to open each year, and Forbes says the organizers knew they wouldn't get approval until they had an appropriate building lined up.
